Our children are thriving and we only wish it went to grade 8! Safe, nurturing, challenging, with a very strong atmosphere of tolerance and respect. The mentoring is built in (such programs as 'book buddies') that develop strong bonds between older and younger students, and the general atmosphere is very supportive and antithetical to cliques and bullying. So popular that it goes against the grain in this town where too many people opt out of public education for private schools; in contrast, Janney has very little space available for kids not in the neighborhood. Wonderful traditions, too, and many opportunities used to explore Washington's cultural setting.”
