Old Bridge Elementary School Reviews

OBE is the best! We are ending our first year here as a military family and couldn't ask for a nicer office staff and teachers. Everyone is always smiling and very friendly. I am very pleased with both of my children's teachers. They far exceeded my expectations in challenging them to higher levels.

This is an excellent school with strong leadership and outstanding teachers.

I have had 6 children go to Old Bridge Elementary, We have been there since 1999. I am very pleased with the school, and the teachers. I have only had one teacher I didn't feel was doing the very best for my child. She was a screamer. All of the other teachers (there have been many!) Are excellent! My children feel safe, they are in a very diverse cultural society at OBE. My children don't see race issues. They have excellent programs for gifted kids, and the playground is really fun. The kids have really enjoyed the music programs too!

I have had children at Old Bridge since the second year it opened. Two of our children have moved on and we still have two at Old Bridge. We have seen many changes over the years, three different principals, many staff changes and a diversity of children. We love Old Bridge and always have. School of Excellence year after year, check to see how many other Prince William schools have achieved that honor.

Our daughter loves OBES as do we. The teachers are professional, caring people. They have helped our daughter make great strides in the two years she has been there. We are thoroughly pleased with the academic and social progress she has made.

From the moment you enter the school you see smiling faces of the students and staff that make you feel very welcome. It is a great school! It is a school of excellence for 7 straight years. I would highly recommend this school to anyone moving into this area.

Old Bridge Elementary School is one of the most outstanding schools my children have ever attended. We are a Military Family and two of my three children went to OBE. I loved the school so much that after my children moved on to Middle School and High School, I decided to apply for a job at OBE. I am pleased to say that today I am not only a very pleased alumna parent, but also a very proud staff member

What can I say? I love to send my kids to OBES each day! The diversity in this school is phenomenal...many different ethnicities and languages spoken. The kids feel special because their teachers care. I disagree with the parent who stated that there is too much emphasis on mastery for the SOLs and not enough on the curriculum! The SOLs measure the mastery of the curriculum and I've seen teachers monitor this all year long. OBES has a great test score history and continues to strive for the best for their kids. The teachers my kids have are very caring and loving but instill in my kids a positive work ethic and level of responsibility that I've not seen elsewhere. There are problems in every school. OBES has its share of challenges but the administration and teachers do everything possible to ensure the safety of my kids and others!

Old Bridge Elementary is a dynamic school. The principal projects excellence and expects it from the teachers and students. All parties rise to the challenge! For 7 straight years, Old Bridge has been rated a 'School of Excellence' by Prince William County Schools. I am pleased with the education my son is receiving there. My son has been at the school for 2 years and I've been able to participate in the classroom, PTO, special events, field trips, career days, amongst many others. All I had to do was show up, stay in touch, and be willing to help out in a variety of capacities! I find that everyone is excited to do more to make OBES the best!

Old Bridge is a great school! Administration, teachers, students, and parents all work very hard to meet the ever rising standards and we were named a School of Excellence in Prince William County again this year. The top priority of the staff is to provide a well rounded education for every student. Old Bridge Elementary is a great choice for any family!

The teachers and staff in this school are excellent! They are constantly seeking professional development classes and exploring new challenges in the field. Teachers who have a strong desire to learn will also inspire this in their students. I love to teach again because I am with real teachers!

It is our first year at Old bridge and we are very impressed! Our children love it! Great teachers and staff. The school offers many activities and is academically challenging. We would recommend this school to anyone moving in the area!

Way too much focus on preparation for the SOLs and not enough focus on curriculum and progress. They pay too much attention to this particular testing and it stresses some of these children out. The anxiety level on my child alone just during SOL is at an all time high. Not much involvement in Parent activities unless you know another parent who is in the group of the PTA. Very much a click thing!

I choose to send my daughter to Old Bridge Elementary, because I like the environment, teachers and leadership. My daughter enjoys the school and is excited to go and I enjoy her excitement.
